APA COVID-19 Vaccine Communication Toolkit - Click here to download full toolkit On January 18, Phase 1B started in Arkansas and 440,000 Arkansans were added to the list of eligible individuals for the COVID-19 vaccine. Supply of the vaccine continues to be constrained (and will be for the foreseeable future) which has already led to higher foot traffic and call volume by vaccine seekers. APA is providing this communications toolkit for pharmacists to use to help communicate to the public about the vaccine and to help alleviate some of the enormous pressure pharmacists are under. The toolkit includes:
Breaking News Update - March 30, 2021 - Governor Hutchinson Opens COVID Vaccination to All Arkansans Ages 16+ On Tuesday, March 30, Governor Asa Hutchinson moved Arkansas into Phase 2, making any Arkansan ages 16 and over eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. - COVID-19 Test Results Online Reporting Tool - The Arkansas Department of Health has launched a new online reporting tool for all COVID-19 testing. The online form allows for reporting of a single patient or multiple patients and is preferable compared to faxing results to allow for accurate information available for immediate use and contact tracing. It is critical to report results as quickly and accurately as possible so that patients can receive timely follow-up and care. Dr. Jennifer Dillaha, Arkansas Department of Health State Epidemiologist and Medical Director of Immunizations and Outbreak Response, has shared a presentation with APA to help inform pharmacists about using the ADH portal for reporting COVID-19 test results. - In order to administer the COVID-19 vaccination to patients 18 years of age or younger, pharmacists must inform the patient and the adult caregiver of the importance of a well-child visit with a pediatrician or other licensed primary-care provider and refer patients as appropriate. A Task Force on Pharmacist Engagement in State-Based COVID Vaccination has developed three tools for use by pharmacists to satisfy this requirement:
- CDC Redistribution Agreement
- APA & ADH Hub & Spoke Agreement
