The Arkansas Association of Health System Pharmacists (AAHP) is currently accepting applications scholarships.  The mission of AAHP is to represent our members by providing leadership and support in the promotion of pharmaceutical care. 

AAHP serves its membership by pursuing common goals through representing private and public agencies as well as other health care organizations and promoting pharmacy as an essential component of the health care team.  AAHP will award several scholarships in the 2020 year.  The scholarship provides funds for the registration fee and 2 years of free AAHP dues. The scholarship award includes use of certification review materials*.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Must be a registered pharmacy technician in the state of Arkansas
2. Must have worked as a pharmacy technician for a minimum of one year or completed an approved pharmacy technician education program.
3. Has never received an AAHP scholarship before

NECESSARY DOCUMENTS

1. Scholarship Application Form
2. Current resume
3. A letter of recommendation from the pharmacy director/pharmacist in charge at your current employment

4. One page essay on one of the following topics:
        A. Thoughts on mandatory certification for pharmacy technicians in   
            Arkansas
   Or
        B. Thoughts on how certified technicians contribute to medication safety
           in the pharmacy environment.

   Note:  In writing your essay, please give specific examples to clarify your ideas.  
   Limit:  One typewritten page (8 ½ x 11, double-spaced)

DEADLINE AND SUBMISSION

All required documents including letter of recommendation must be received by the AAHP technician representative by September 15, 2019.  This year’s recipients will be notified by postal mail/email and announced at the AAHP Fall Seminar, October 4, 2019.
