Dear Pharmacy Technician,

During 2018, the profession of pharmacy has reached new horizons with the changes brought about in the Affordable Care Act.  With the evolution of pharmacist's role in today's healthcare, technician roles are also changing.  AAHP members are perfectly poised to help expand healthcare services to many through these new avenues. National certification for pharmacy technicians is quickly becoming the “gold standard” and the expectation.

As an organization, AAHP accomplished much last year. During the last 12 months, technicians were represented on the AAHP Board during quarterly meetings. AAHP Pharmacy Technicians continued the Certification Scholarship program. AAHP pharmacy technicians collaborated with college of pharmacy students to offer national certification sessions for area health system pharmacy technicians and there was specific technician ACPE Continuing Education programming during the annual AAHP Fall Seminar.

Our goals for 2019 are lofty but attainable with your help.

• We would like to increase our membership by 50%. When you renew your membership this year, grab a friend and encourage them to join as well.
• Please join us on Facebook. AAHP member, Shannon Gallagher, has agreed to be the administrator for the group.
• We would like to award two technician scholarships this year. If you are not nationally certified, now is a great time to do so. Also, please encourage your co workers to apply.
• Your commitment to AAHP through membership serves as your voice in shaping the future role of pharmacy technicians in Arkansas. Now, more than ever, your involvement in AAHP shows your investment in our profession. Whether you practice in retail, institutional or hospital pharmacy-AAHP offers membership to all pharmacy technicians regardless of practice setting.

Membership dues are only $30.00 and include APA and AAHP Dues.
