PR Campaign

Following member and consumer research in 2011 and 2012, APA's Board of Directors approved a public awareness and marketing campaign on behalf of Arkansas pharmacists. The goal of the campaign is to regain the patient and allow APA member pharmacists an opportunity to apply their expertise to improve patients' quality of life and health.

Television campaign:  The campaign kicked off in November 2012 with six weeks of television advertising in the Little Rock, Jonesboro and Northwest Arkansas markets. The ads ran again between Dec. 23, 2013 and Jan. 5, 2014 on CNN and Fox News in selected markets and ran Jan. 6-Feb. 28, 2014 on the Weather Channel and History Channel.

In addition, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) distributed a 30-second public service announcement (PSA) about the College of Pharmacy that complimented APA's 30-second TV ads.  The UAMS  PSA continues to run at different times day or night.

Key messages delivered to consumers in the ads are that pharmacists are skilled health care professionals; that patients can count on pharmacists to provide the right medications; and that pharmacists are knowledgeable and accessible. Click on the images below to view the ads.

Radio campaign: In addition to the television ads, APA ran 30-second radio ads throughout the statefrom 2012 to 2014 to coincide with cold and flu season, back-to-school preparations and in recognition of pharmacy week. The ads are available to APA members to tag if they wish to do local advertising. Click on the links below to listen to the ads or download them.
